How to Make a Weighted Eye Mask
Just in time for Mother’s Day and Mental Health Awareness Month, our National Educator Teresa Coates will demonstrate how to make a great last-minute gift for your favorite mom (and that might be you!). The weighted eye mask can be combined with other projects we’ve showcased, such as the Luxe Cuddle Robe, Sleep Mask and Sleeper Slippers to create a luxurious, coordinating set.
We will be sharing how this pattern works in a variety of fabric so you can choose the combo that works best for you, including Luxe Cuddle®, Cloud Cuddle®, Cuddle® 3 and Silky Satin.
This week, Teresa will focus on how to easily mark the fabric for topstitching (it might just surprise you how simple it is!) as well as tips on using glass beads to add weight. Not only are the PolyFil Glasslets great for this project, they can also be used to add weight to several of the projects featured in our recent Autism Awareness post.
If you’d prefer your eye mask without the heft, be sure to check out our Sleep Mask tutorial that uses a strip of elastic to hold it in place. It includes a fun eyelash appliqué that could be used on either project.
