Sew Together Tuesday Summer Sewing Shorts: Bite-Sized Tips for Cuddle® (Video)

We’re back, and we're mixing things up for Summer 2022!

Our National Educator Teresa Coates has put together a series of "Summer Sewing Shorts" — a variety of short video tutorials full of basic tips and techniques for working with Cuddle®.

We'll cover topics such as how to cut, pin and sew Cuddle® minky fabric, how to make working with Cuddle® fabric less messy and so much more (giveaways, too)!

These videos will stream every Tuesday, starting July 12 at 10:00 am PT on the Shannon Fabrics Facebook page and YouTube Channel.

Episode 1: Introduction to Cuddle®

       Teresa shares a brief overview of Cuddle® minky plush fabrics and how they compare to other minky fabrics (it might surprise you!). She’ll also explain more about Digital Cuddle® and Luxe Cuddle® to help you make the right fabric choices for your favorite Cuddle® projects.

Episode 2: Cutting Cuddle®

Tuesday, July 19 @ 10 am PT

       Cutting minky can be messy, but there are some easy ways to make it more manageable. Join Teresa to learn which cutting tools are best for each of our Cuddle® collections, from scissors, to a rotary cutter or craft knife. The less Cuddle® dust you have to clean up, the more fun you'll have!

Episode 3: Cuddle® Pinning Tips

       If you struggle with Cuddle® sliding when you sew, it’s time to learn how to pin it correctly! Teresa will show how you can pin Cuddle® to control the "crawl" and make it easier to keep straight, providing accurate seams.

Episode 4: Using a Walking Foot with Cuddle®

Tuesday, August 2 @ 10 am PT

      Join Teresa for a brief introduction to sewing with Cuddle®, and she'll also give a comparison of the digital dual feed, walking foot and the even feed system to see which works best for Cuddle®.

Episode 5: Spray Basting Cuddle®

Tuesday, August 9 @ 10 am PT

       Spray basting is the easiest way to keep Cuddle® exactly where you want it! Teresa will show you when and how to spray baste with Cuddle® to make your next project as easy as possible (Cuddle® strip quilt, anyone?).
