Not All Stilettos Are Created Equal

Several years ago, while watching the Shannon Fabrics Tuesday livestreams, I kept hearing about the ByAnnie Stiletto and how wonderful and useful it was. At the time, I already owned a different brand and thought, “A stiletto is a stiletto, right?” How different could they really be?

Months later, I spotted a ByAnnie Stiletto in a store and decided to put it to the test. I wanted to see for myself if it was really as wonderful as everyone claimed and compare it to the one I already had.

I went home and started using it. The difference between the ByAnnie Stiletto and my other was brand was night and day. It has a sharp point that is perfect for holding sometimes squirrely or squishy fabric while sewing or helping position fabric under the presser foot. It is also thinner than the other brand I had, making it easier and more comfortable for me to hold. When sewing really thick layers, especially binding around corners, the stiletto can be used to help feed the fabric under the presser foot. There are so many uses for stiletto, but these quickly became my favorites.

Several months ago, I had to take my sewing machine in for repair. After my husband put my machine in the sewing room, my ByAnnie Stiletto somehow went missing. I pulled out my other brand stiletto and spent the next 20 minutes struggling to get it to do what the ByAnnie Stiletto does effortlessly. I finally stopped working on my project and did a deep search of my sewing room until I finally found my ByAnnie Stiletto.

If AirTags were smaller, I would seriously consider putting one on my stiletto because I don’t want to sew Luxe Cuddle® without it! I usually keep it right in front of my sewing machine, so 99% of the time it’s within a two-foot reach. Whether I’m using it to hold or feed thick or squirrely fabric, help guide multiple layers under the presser foot, or fluff out stitch lines so they disappear into the pile of fabric, it has become one of my most important tools when working with Cuddle®.

My experience with this little tool made me a believer, and I now strongly recommend the ByAnnie Stiletto to anyone who sews with Cuddle®. Sometimes the smallest tools make the biggest difference.
