Hello. It’s Laura from SewVeryEasy. I’ve got the most sumptuous Luxe Cuddle® faux fur throw blanket to share with you. It’s so quick and easy--you can make it in just a few hours. What a great gift or make up a few for yourself too!
This throw is the ultimate in luxurious comfort. It’s ideal for over a sofa or chair, on a bed or just about anywhere you want something warm and cozy. It’s also so indulgent and beautiful.
It looks like real fur but it’s not-- It’s made with a longer, textured and embossed pile Cuddle plush fabric - so it’s machine washable!
I chose Luxe Cuddle Red Fox Amber/Taupe fabric from the Luxe Cuddle Collection.
I used 5 yards total- 2.5 for each side. Since the Luxe Cuddle is approx. 58/60” wide, this throw finishes at a striking big size – approx. 56” x 88”. But you could make a smaller size throw with just 4 yards.
For this project, I used some of my favorite notions. I chose a size 90/14 stretch sewing machine needle from SCHMETZ, as I find that a stretch needle is needed for Cuddle, which is a knit. I also used coordinating 100% polyester all-purpose thread by Coats & Clark. To hold the fabric together you can use pins or those fun little wonder clips by Clover. I also like a walking foot with Cuddle but it’s not 100% necessary. For tips on working with Cuddle, click here and for tips on working with Faux Fur, click here and here.
I created an easy to follow step-by-step video tutorial to show how to sew this project. To watch the video, follow this link How to make a Luxe Cuddle Throw
