How to Bind Cuddle Blankets with Fold-over Elastic

Written by Ellen Mickelson | Mar 27, 2015 11:00:44 AM

Hey friends! Are you looking for a unique way to finish edges on Cuddle blankets? We know many of you finish your blanket edges with binding that is made of Cuddle or satin-- but have you ever thought about fold-over elastic? Well...we thought it would be fun to share a tutorial on finishing edges with fold-over elastic. It's by our friends at Dritz.

The tutorial shows three methods of using Cuddle with Fold-over Elastic FOE from Dritz. Like traditional pre-made binding, Fold-over elastic has a center indentation where it is designed to be folded in half. It comes in solids and prints and in various widths.

The following fabrics were used for the samples:

Mod Dot Cuddle Paris Pink/Snow from the Cuddle Classics Collection

Hippo Cuddle Fuchsia from Urban Zoologie by Ann Kelle, a Robert Kaufman Cuddle Collection

Cuddle 3® Fuchsia from the Kozy Cuddle Collection

View the tutorial here: How to Finish Edges with Fold-Over Elastic. We hope you like it! Let us know what you make. We'd love to see your projects.

Hugs with Cuddle,

Ellen
