Did you know September is National Sewing Month? We are sew proud to share the news and celebrate! One way we’re celebrating is by supporting and sponsoring The Sewing Loft as a 2016 Challenge Sponsor. You can enter to win prizes galore including a Cuddle® quilt kit!
So, here's a little bit about the history of National Sewing Month - “On September 21, 1982, at the request of the American Home Sewing & Craft Association, an industry and trade association supporting the sewing and craft industries, President Ronald Reagan, under Proclamation #4976, declared September as National Sewing Month “In recognition of the importance of home sewing to our Nation.” You can read more of the history here.
A few organizations that are heavily involved in National Sewing Month are The Sewing & Craft Alliance and the American Sewing Guild.
This year, one way we're involved is by supporting the sewing community via sponsoring the National Sewing Month Series at The Sewing Loft.
