Trudy’s Faux Flange Cuddle Blanket

Written by Ellen Mickelson | Feb 23, 2016 3:17:29 PM

Happy #TutorialTuesday! Today we’re sharing Trudy’s Faux Flange Cuddle Blanket.

Design inspiration credit for this lovely blanket goes to Fabric Depot company president, Trudy Parry Shurts, who made a similar blanket for one of her grandchildren. It was such a hit that she shared the technique with Sew4Home and they developed it into an easy, step-by-step tutorial you can size up or down.

The blanket border is created with an easy seamed faux flange, giving it a unique look.

A houndscheck Cuddle print is featured on the front and a Crushed Soft Cuddle is used on the back. The blanket is interlined with flannel for a soft and supple look.

This is the print on the front: Houndscheck Cuddle Coral/Navy, a Robert Kaufman Cuddle print

This is what was used on the back Crushed Soft Cuddle Beige

 Doesn’t this blanket look soft?

You can download the tutorial here: Trudy’s Faux Flange Cuddle Blanket.

We’ll be sharing more tutorials from Sew4Home and Fabric Depot so be sure to watch for more. Please comment below and let us know what you’d like to see next so we can Make Your World a Softer Place.

Hugs with Cuddle,

Ellen
