Sew a Ruched Pillow Cover in Cuddle

Written by Ellen Mickelson | Sep 18, 2015 11:00:36 AM

Hi again. Angel here from Fleece Fun. I promised I’d be back on Shannon Fabrics My Cuddle Corner to share my tutorial and pattern for a ruched pillow cover.

Ruching is simply a way of gathering the fabric on both sides. The ruching adds a beautiful three-dimensional texture and look to the pillow. You can make these pretty pillows for your bedroom, living room, family room and more. Recover your old pillows for a new look... or make brand new ones!

I’ll show you how to make the pillow cover with an envelope-style back- it’s such an easy closure- even a beginner can do it. No need to worry about a zipper closure. And, you can easily remove the covers to wash them.

I used Cuddle prints for two of the pillows and Cuddle Suede for one of them. Here are the Cuddle fabrics that I used to make the pillows.

Swiss Dot Cuddle Baby Blue

Cuddle Suede Baby Blue

Lattice Cuddle Baby Blue

Aren’t they yummy? Here’s a side view.

And, here’s another view of the Cuddle Suede pillow.

I made a few of these pretty pillows to coordinate with my Cuddle Duvet Cover. I love the way the entire ensemble looks! For the Cuddle Duvet Cover tutorial, click on this link.
