Pattern by: Pretty Patterns – Gift Bag with a Bow
You’ve got the perfect gift, now it’s time to create your very own unique gift bag. Try this fun
Gift Bag with a Bow pattern from Pretty Patterns. In this projecct, we've used Shannon Fabrics Digital Cuddle® "Snowfall" print; pictured above, you'll see Cloud Cuddle® Ho Ho Ho. There are 9 sizes, one for every size gift.
Instructions:
1) The pattern pieces will need to be taped together (see image on far left, below).
2) There is Main Piece and a lining piece. The lining piece is slightly smaller than the main piece.
(see second image from left, below)
Shannon Fabrics has great seasonal prints and coordinating C3 colors for fun and festive bags.
3) Cut 2 pieces (on the fold) of the main bag and 2 pieces of the lining piece. (See images 3 & 4 from left)
4) Place the two main pieces with right sides together. This will form a W shape at the bottom.
5) Sew both Main sides together at the short side seams. In the same manor, sew the lining side seams together, leaving an opening on one side for turning. (See Images 5 & 6)
6). Shift the seams just sewn to the left keeping the W shape. The seams just sewn will be on
the right front side and left back side. (Image 7 & 8).
7) Sew the angles at the right and left side bottom. (Image 9.)
8) Match up the sewn seam of side pieces to create the final bottom seam. Pin and sew closed. (Image 10)
9) Your bag is now ready to be sewn together (Image 11). Turn the main piece right side out.
10) Place the lining (wrong side out) over the main piece (Image 12).
11) Clip the side seams together (Image 13).
12) Clip all the way around the top side of the bag (Image 14)
13) Pull the bag out through the opening in the lining (Image 15).
14) Clip the outside of the bag to prepare for top stitching around the bag (Image 16).
15) Sew ¼” topstitch around the top side of the bag. Hand Sew the opening in the lining closed. Enjoy your holidays!
